Jeff Ballew joins Research Administration Office (RAO) as Sponsored Projects Administrator

BYU Sponsored Projects announces Jeff Ballew as a new Sponsored Projects Administrator in the Research Administration Office (RAO) effective August 24, 2020.

“Ballew is very service oriented, competent, experienced and hard working.” said Associate Director – Sponsored Projects, Debbie Silversmith. “He has been assisting the faculty in the department of Chemistry & Bio-Chemistry with their research project proposals for the past five years and is poised to make significant contributions to BYU as a whole through his service in this new role.”

Ballew earned a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Iowa State University in 1990 and an M.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from University of Michigan in 1998. 

Ballew joined BYU in 2015 after an early career as a researcher, including a stint at the Mayo Clinic.  Ballew has served in the role of Department Research Administrator for the past 5 years. 

Initially, Jeff Ballew will support the Colleges of Life Sciences, Family Home & Social Sciences, Humanities, and the department of Chemical Engineering.
